I gave up on my beginner's motorcycling course when it dawned on me that all the so called 'beginners' were not beginners at all. All of them had some experience, some had years (!) and I had zero! I was having a hard time keeping up so I quit! Instead, my boyfriend has been coaching me and I am now riding on the road, albeit back roads. Made my first 15 mile trip last Saturday following my boyfriend. Last night I went out in my community for a half hour ride alone...heart pounding all the way, but I did it! I am hooked. I bought a Harley Sportster 1200 but then decided it was too big for a total beginner, so got a Honda Rebel. I will continue with my Honda until I feel comfortable to get on the Harley. Seeing other women riding all kinds of bikes, big and small, has given me the confidence that I can do it too. I thank all those women out there who have paved the way for beginners like me! P.S. I so not know how to upload (download) pictures...without the help of my son...so forgive me my picture. It isn't me of course, but something one of my students downloaded. I will hopefully replace it later!
