I am thrilled to be back & thanks sunny! I have some great pics I will post soon. My family is fine, my job is good & my ride is very kewl, all though I guess women think of their 1st bikes like their 1st love (sweet, comfortable & yet ended up boring, lol)
Hello! Sunny, just a few things I wanted to share. I took the MSF course in 2004. bought my bike on ebay and have been riding for the past 5 years. I ride independent with different small groups of friends. I found the Real Divas Ride site early in my riding career and joined. I had signed up to participate in your ride for the cure ride that came thru Los Angeles to end unltimately on the east coast, but feel to an acute illness that hospitalized me for 12 days and almost took my life. The Lord blessed me with a second chance and I slowly began to put one foot in front of the other and reclaim my life starting first with my health, happiness and peace of mind. Shortly thereafter I lost my best friend to breast cancer after a courageous 5 year battle. I rode out the pain on my bike and I came thru on the other side. Enough history... After taking a hiatus from the site I am back. I actually had the pleasure of meeting you at Col Allensworth's historic state park in Cali in 2009 at the 2nd annual west coast bikers roundup where you shared with me that you had relocated to the east coast. I never imagined we would meet face to face, but we did and you were as dynamic in person as you project online. May God continue to bless you. As I came online to update my page today, I see that you are not only a diva but a soldier - as in Buffalo Soldier 9th&10th calvary! I literally just yesterday submitted my application to prospect for the south bay BSMC chapter based in Morgan Hill, CA and I know now that I made the right decision. I do not believe I just stumbled amongst this elite group - God has a way of keeping us in good company. I believe it was destined to be. I look forward to my adventures with the Buffalo Soldiers once I am on the other side of the prospect stage - and perhaps our paths will cross once again. Stay strong and be blessed. Thank you for fighting the good fight against a horrible disease that is befalling way to many of our sisters.
Sunny, it was such a great pleasure and honor to meet you this past summer in New Orleans. We were there for the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers Conference 2009 . I belong to the Buffalo Soldiers of Indiana Mother Chapter and made the journey to New Orleans riding all the way. My first and I'm sure not my last long ride. Though I ride with a great group of guys, they all expected me to trailer my bike down. One even offered to pay me to trailer mine so he could trailer his...lol...Silly boys, motorcycles are for girls (Diva's)
Sunny, Thanks for the invite. This is great a site just for women rides to meet, greet, chat and share stories. What a fabulous idea. Also Thanks I recieved my pin, that was express service. Look forward to sharing and updating. I'm going to be hosting my second annual Breast Cancer ride this year in October. I use you as an example of determination and perserverance. Thanks
